Set up direct debit as your payment method for Reckon One
Learn how to pay for your Reckon One subscriptions by direct debit, so your payments come straight out of your bank account instead of a credit card.
Before you start
Direct debit needs to be switched on for your account before you can use it.
To get it switched on, contact us. Have your BSB, bank account number and the name on the account handy.
Set up or update direct debit
To set up direct debit, or change your direct debit payment details:
- Log in to the Reckon Customer Portal, or if you are in the Reckon One book, click on the arrow next to your book name (top left) and select Manage subscription in Portal.
- In the Account menu, select Billing.
- In the Payment details section, click Update.
- Select Direct debit. (If you can't see the option, contact us.)
- Enter your BSB and bank account number in the Bank Details field.
- Enter the name on your bank account in the Account name field.
- Enter the email address you'd like your payment notifications sent to in the Email field.
- Read the Direct Debit Request, along with the Direct Debit Request service agreement it links to. Providing your bank account details means you agree to both.
- Click Update payment details.
We'll email you a confirmation with the bank details you entered and your mandate reference (a reference that helps us identify the payments). Check the details are right – if anything's wrong, come back to the Billing screen and update them.
Your payments will appear on your bank statement as Reckon Limited, along with that mandate reference.
Switch to credit card
- Log in to the Reckon Customer Portal, or if you are in the Reckon One book, click on the arrow next to your book name (top left) and select Manage subscription in Portal.
- In the Account menu, select Billing.
- In the Payment details section, click Update.
- Select Credit card.
- Enter your card number, expiry date and CVC.
- Click Update payment details.
Prepaid cards can't be used, due to payment gateway restrictions.
Switching to a credit card doesn't remove direct debit as an option from your account – it stays available if you want to switch back later. To have it removed altogether, get in touch with us.
Cancel your direct debit
Your direct debit is authorised by a mandate between you and your bank. You can cancel that mandate at any time by contacting your bank, or by contacting us.
Cancelling the mandate stops any future payments, so if you do this, you'll need to add another payment method to keep your subscriptions running.
Remove your payment details
You can remove your payment details if you don't have any active subscriptions. If you have an active subscription, and wish to stop using your current payment method, you'll need to either update your direct debit details or switch to credit card. If you don't have an active subscription, you can remove your payment details:
- Login to the Reckon Customer Portal.
- In the Account menu, select Billing.
- In the Payment details section, click Delete.
If the option to Delete is greyed out, click Why is the remove button greyed out? to see the reason.
