Set up Beam SuperStream in Reckon Payroll app

Learn how to set up Beam, Reckon's integrated super clearing house, in the Reckon Payroll app. SuperStream allows you to send superannuation contribution data and payments to employee funds in a compliant, standardised format. With Beam, you can do this directly within the payroll app.

If you've set up Beam in Reckon One, you don't need to do this on the app.

This feature is available on any Payroll plan (Essentials, Plus, Premium or Ultimate).

Before you begin

When you enable Beam, you'll need to choose a payment method for paying the super contributions to Beam. If you intend on having Beam direct debit your super contributions when you lodge SuperStream, check that the bank account set up in your app is the one you want debited:

  1. Tap Settings icon on the footer navigation.
  2. Tap Bank details.

Set up Beam in the Payroll app

You'll begin the setup process in the payroll app, then complete setup with Beam in an in-app browser.

Start Beam setup in the app

In the Reckon Payroll app:

  1. Tap Settings icon on the footer navigation.
  2. Tap SuperStream service.
  3. Tap Enable and set up Beam.

This will open Beam in an in‑app browser.

Complete Beam registration

Once in the Beam website:

  1. Confirm business, address and contact details.
  2. Choose the payment method for Beam.
    1. If you only want superannuation contribution data sent, but not the actual contributions, choose Direct to fund.
    2. Otherwise, choose a payment method that suits:
      1. EFT and BPAY allow you to manually transfer payment to Beam.
      2. Direct debit is when Beam will automatically debit payment.
      If you choose Direct Debit as your payment method, ensure the account name, BSB and account number match the bank account set up in your app.
  3. Nominate a default super fund.
  4. Accept Beam Terms & Conditions then tap Back to Reckon to return to Payroll app.
    Once registration is complete, close the browser. SuperStream status will show as Enabled.

Understanding SuperStream service status

You can check your Beam status in the app:

  1. Tap Settings icon on the footer navigation.
  2. Tap SuperStream service.

Status

Meaning

Disabled

Beam has not been set up

Incomplete

Beam setup started but not finished

Enabled

Beam is fully set up and ready to use
