Question

The tax payroll items ‘State Payroll Tax’ and ‘PAYG Tax’ are corrupt. 

Answer

Solution:

1. Create a new company file, skip the interview and choose No Accounts option.
2. Go to the Payroll Item List and delete all payroll items except ‘State Payroll Tax’ and ‘PAYG Tax’.
3. Export the Payroll Item List to an IIF file.
4. Open your company file and import this IIF file.
5. Verify and rebuild your company file and check the qbwin.log file. 
6. There should be no 'invalid tax authority' error.
