Quicken Lists and Reports print as a small box

Question

Why does Quicken shrink the printing of a Category List, Reconciliation and some other reports to a small box?

Answer

This is an issue reported on the

·         Brother FAX-2820 USB Printer

·         Brother MFC-7420 USB Printer

working in a Windows XP environment.

It can happen on other printers.

Workaround 1:  Print in draft mode

When printing from the File > Print function on the Print Window, click on the Print in draft mode radio button.  (some displays may have an intermediary window before Print Window)

When printing a Report, on the Print window, in the Ink Colour section, click on the Draft radio button.

Workaround 2:  Print to a PDF document then print out the PDF document. 

You will need a PDF writer application like Adobe Acrobat.  There are free PDF writers available on the internet – PrimoPDF and CutePDF are 2 popular ones. 

1.    On the Print window, select the PDF writer as your printer and click Print

2.    Save the document to your Desktop

3.    Double click the PDF document icon to open it and select the Print function to print to your local printer.
