Cannot see the upload, download or clipboard button on the Hosted Floating toolbar

Question

Why can’t I see the upload, download and clipboard buttons on the Hosted Floating Toolbar?

Answer

Disable touch screen feature in Device Manager.


The Issue

Some new laptops with Windows 10 operating system installed also have a touch-enabled screen.

This feature leads Ericom, the background HTML5 RDP client, to think it is connected to a tablet and so it activates only the keyboard icons and disables the rest. 

When the touch screen feature is turned off Ericom will correctly identify the PC.

 


Detailed Instructions


  1. Start > Control Panel > Device Manager
  2. Locate the touch screen device:
    1. Either, Human Interface Devices;
    2. Or, Display adapters;
    3. Or, see More Information below.
  3. Right click it and select Disable.
  4. Close the Device Manager. 

You should now see the full Floating Toolbar in Hosted.
