Question

When Scanning items in QuickPOS, it incorrectly brings up first item in the product list. Why?

Answer

1) If your scanner is sharing a cable with your keyboard open Notepad and scan an item to ensure your scanner has been programmed to put a ~ in front of the barcode and a carriage return at the end.  If not your scanner has not been programmed correctly.

2) If you have scanned the barcode number into QuickBooks make sure that the items barcodes in QuickBooks are not prefixed with ~

2) Make sure that you are in the transaction window in QuickPOS, and not the product list, when scanning.
