Include a message on a Retail POS Receipt

Question

In my bistro a copy of the receipt is printed on the Kitchen Printer in the kitchen that acts as an order for the chefs.  How can I include a message like Medium, Rare or Well Done on the receipt?

Answer

Since 2011/12 Retail POS has an all-purpose memo field that can be used to include a message line on a Receipt. 

 

Detailed Instructions

On the POS Terminal, create a Memo button:

1.    Tools > Options > Keyboard > Design Touch Keyboard Layout;

2.    Click on New and position the button on the screen;

3.    Click Function;

4.    Under POS Functions, select Memo Entry;

5.    Under Function Options set the Caption to your desired title;

6.    If your memo will be the same on all occasions, enter the memo in the Preset memo field; otherwise leave it blank;

7.    Click Apply then OK and OK.

 

To use the memo field to qualify a purchase:

1.    Enter the sale item and then click the Memo button;

2.    Enter your memo and click OK – your memo will appear directly below your sale item;

3.    Continue with the transaction, clicking on the memo button after each sale item that requires a qualification.
