How to Create a printable bill credit advice with item display when requesting a refund from a Supplier

Question

How can I print an advice listing items I am returning for a credit from a supplier?

 

Answer

Bill Credit forms are not printable in Accounts Business. 

You can tailor a report to show the items you are returning and use it as an advice slip.

 

Detailed Instructions

Process a Credit Note for your returned item

          In the memo field add a note:  Request for Refund

 

Modify a Purchases by Supplier Detail Report

1.    Reports > Purchase > Purchases by Supplier Detail

2.    Click on Modify Reports

3.    Select the date range – eg Today

4.    In the Columns box untick unwanted columns:

a.    Num

b.    U/M

c.    Balance

5.    In the columns tick additional columns

a.    Tax Amount

6.    Move any column around to desired effect

7.    Click on the Filters tab

8.    In Choose Filter, select Transaction Type, then in the box on the right, select Bill Credit

9.    Select Name, and in the box on the right, click the dropdown arrow and select your supplier

10. Select Detail level and All or All Except Summary

11. Click OK to generate the customised report

12. Click Modify again and then the Header/Footer tab

a.    In Report Title add:  Request for Credit

b.    In subtitle add: credit request for total Amount + Tax Amount

c.    Click OK to complete

13. Memorise the Report for future use.

Your report is ready to print.
