Why do I receive the Reckon Accounts Personal launcher Error 1601, 1602, 1603: The application failed to initialise properly or The application has failed to start?
Answer
Reckon Accounts Personal launcher error: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc01000015)", or "The application has failed to start.." Relates to 1601, 1602 and 1603 Errors.
It has been reported that some customers with new HP and Dell systems are experiencing this error when attempting to run
Reckon Accounts Personal after the installation.
- Windows Vista: "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc01000015)"
- Windows XP: The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem."
This issue is due to missing/outdated .DLL files provided by your Windows Operating System.
Solution:
- Please visit Microsoft Article KB961894. Refer to https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/KB961894
- Click the Downloads tab
- Choose the correct version for your system
- ENU (vcredist_x86.exe) for 32Bit systems
- ENU (vcredist_x64.exe) for 64Bit systems - Follow the prompts to complete the installation
- Run Reckon Accounts Personal
