Printer not activated, error code -60, -41 or-30 when Saving as PDF or emailing in RAB (Server only)

Legacy KB ID: 5461

Question

I have installed the current version of Reckon Accounts Business on my Windows Server (Server versions 2008, 2012 or 2016). Why can’t I email or save any reports or transactions as PDF? I get the error: “Printer not activated, error code -60” OR “Printer not activated, error code -30” OR "Printer not activated, error code -41"

(KB Updated 14/02/2018 with new information)

Answer

Who does this apply to?

It applies to you if you are using versions of Reckon Accounts Business (Desktop) newer than the 2016 edition in Windows server (2008, 2012 or 2016).

Detailed solution:

There is a slight change in Amyuni PDF Driver that started in RAB 2016. Follow the steps below to save and email as PDF using the current version of RAB directly from the server.

Step 1: Close the current version of RAB and install Reckon Account Business 2015. No need for activation.

Step 2: Open the installation folder of Reckon Accounts Business 2015 and copy the fileQBWPR32.dll.

Step 3: Open the installation folder of the current version of your Reckon Accounts Business and rename the existingQBWPR32.dlltoQBWPR32.dll.old

Step 4: Paste the fileQBWPR32.dllfrom Reckon Accounts Business 2015 installation folder.

If you have purchased RAB 2015 before, you can download the software installer and obtain the installation key from your member's area.

If you do not have RAB 2015 purchased before, you can use the TRIAL Installation key:833117542695801810042

You can also use this link to download RAB 2015 installer. https://downloads.reckon.com.au/Reckon%20Accounts%202015%20R1.exe

NOTE:

There is no need to activate or open the RAB 2015. Dropping the file from RAB 2015 to the current RAB installation folder without installing the whole RAB 2015 will not work. You need the whole 2015 package installed for the workaround to work.

Folder Location:

1. Reckon Accounts Business 2015 installation folder:

64 bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\Reckon Accounts 2015

32 bit: C:\Program Files\Intuit\ Reckon Accounts 2015

2.Reckon Accounts Current Version (ex: 2017 or 2018)

64 bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Intuit\Reckon Accounts 20xx

32 bit: C:\Program Files\Intuit\ Reckon Accounts 20xx

Additional Information:

You might receive the error -20 after following the steps above. Amyuni have provided the steps to resolve this error that requires registry access. We have compiled that information on this KB Please make sure you are familiar with computer registry before following this instruction or speak to your system admin.
