1B field on BAS reporting incorrectly

Legacy KB ID: 4343

Question

Why does the amount in the 1B field (GST paid) on the BAS Lodgement form differ from the Tax Reports?

Answer

This issue has been experienced by Multi-currency users reporting tax on a Cash basis and entering bills where there are 3 or more decimal points in the cost field.

This problem is a rounding issue.  When the total GST paid amount has a cents value of 50 cents or more, the amount is rounded up to the next dollar on the 1B cell of the BAS.  Tax reports round all cents down.

Where there are 4 or more decimal points in the cost field, once tax reaches double figures ($10.00 or more) the 1B amount is reduced by at least one dollar.

Workaround

Once you have verified that the Tax Reports are correct (Tax Liability matches Tax Summary and Tax Detail Reports), overwrite the 1B field (GST paid) with the amount for GST reclaimed from purchases on the Tax Liability Report.

How did we do?

Drop down menu in BAS are not wide enough, items are being cut of and are hard to read

BAS Lodgement form is blank after upgrading
