Reckon Accounts Desktop: Creating the EMPdupe file

Legacy KB ID: 5412

Question

How is the Empdule file created in Reckon Accounts Business range?  I must upload one file to the ATO but Reckon Accounts processes INB and ETP Payment Summaries separately, as well as Print and Email employee batches.

Answer

EMPDupe files have been overridden by Single Touch Payroll in a large majority of cases. Please ensure you need to process an EMPDupe before continuing.

Reckon Accounts Business range produces the required EmpDupe file in the format required.

You only need to select the INB Payment Summary and any ETP payment summaries will be included.

  1. Go to Employees> Process Payment Summaries > ATO Magnetic Media (EmpDupe);
  2. Select INB Payment Summaries;
  3. Select the financial year;
  4. Tick employees and click on Preview to check the file;
    1. Any ETP entries will automatically be included in the file
    2. All INB entries are posted first; ETP entries are in the lower part of the file;
  5. Click on Electronic File to create the EmpDupe export file.

You can now upload this file to the ATO’s ECI portal.

Hosted users, lodging through SBR (via GovConnect) will need to upload the EmpDupe file twice, once for INB Payment Summaries and once for ETP Payment Summaries.

Employee Print and Email lists are only significant when printing out / emailing the Payment Summaries.

How did we do?

Modifying pays in payroll

I have entered a FBT amount and it is not showing on my Payment Summary for the financial year, I use Quickbooks 2007/08.
