Unable to open message store when emailing from Reckon Accounts 2016

Question

Why can’t I email from the Reckon Accounts Business 2016?  I get the error:  “Unable to open your email message store.  Your message cannot be sent.”

A MAPI error follows.


Answer

Launch Reckon Accounts Business in Run as Administrator

 

The issue

This issue may arise when you are emailing to a 32-bit version of Outlook 2016 on a Windows 10 PC. 

 

Solution:

  1. Right-click your Reckon Accounts Business launch icon

  2. Properties > Compatibility

  3. Tick the box: Run this program as an Administrator.

  4. Click OK.
