Student Loan repayment amount does not update after changing Salary amount in Review or Change Pays

Question

Why doesn’t the Student Loan deduction update when I alter the Salary amount on the Review or Change Pays screen?

 

Answer

You will experience this problem if you open the Review or Change Pays screen for an employee, close it, change the date and open the Review or Change Pays screen again.

You should always select the correct dates in the Enter Payroll Information screen before opening the Review or Change Pays screen for an employee.

 

Workaround

1.    Start the pay run again and ensure the correct Dates are chosen before opening the Review or Change Pays screen for an employee.

2.    Having started a payrun, you can manually update the Student Loan amount to the correct amount – refer to the IRD website for applicable rates.

3.    If the pay run has been processed, follow Step 2.
