Question

About the help usage tracking system

Answer

The Help Usage Tracking feature gives you the opportunity to help Quicken Australia improve your software. As you use the QuickBooks help, this system records the names of help topics you view. It then anonymously sends the list of help topics to Quicken Australia so we can better understand which parts of QuickBooks could be easier to learn and use.

The Help Usage Tracking feature tracks only help topics that you view while QuickBooks is running and your answers to the "Did this topic answer your question?" survey. It does not track any information whatsoever about your company, finances, computer or any other business or personal matter.

Periodically, when you have an Internet connection open, QuickBooks automatically sends a list of help topics you have viewed and your survey answers back to Quicken Australia. This information is sent completely anonymously. Although the Help Usage Tracking feature does assign an identification number to your computer and send it to Quicken Australia along with your help usage information, the number is generated randomly and cannot be used to identify you in any way.

To turn help tracking on or off;
1) From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
2) Select General in the scroll box on the left, then click the Company Preferences tab.
3) Select the "Enable Anonymous Help Tracking" check box to allow QuickBooks to record which help topics you visit.
or
Clear the "Enable Anonymous Help Tracking" check box to stop QuickBooks from tracking the help topics you visit.

Note: Answering the "Did this topic answer your question?" survey at the bottom of a help topic will turn help tracking on so that Quicken Australia can receive your feedback.
Set the other preferences as you prefer.

4) Click OK.
