Some YTD figures appear incorrectly on a QuickBooks 2012/13 payslip

Legacy KB ID: 4518

Question

Why are the Taxable YTD figures incorrect on payslips in QuickBooks 2012/13?

Answer

You may experience this issue when using:

·         either the Quicken Standard Pay Slip and the Standard Two Per Page pay slip format;  and,

·         items such as bonus, allowances and overtime intermittently.

When the item is first used and used continuously, the items are properly included for Taxable Pay YTD Totals figures.  When they are not used in this pay the YTD amount for those items is not included in the Taxable Pay YTD Totals.

The Quicken Custom Pay Slip will show the Total Pay YTD Totals correctly and Taxable Pay YTD Totals incorrectly.

The Standard Two Per Page pay slip will show both the Total Pay YTD Totals and Taxable Pay YTD Totals incorrectly.

When the item is used again in a pay, the full YTD amount for that item will be included in the Taxable Pay YTD Totals.

Workaround

Use either a Standard One Per Page or Standard Three Per Page pay slip format
