Unlinking one pay rate from another pay rate in Payroll Premier

Question

Why can’t I see Long Service Leave in the list of Leave Types in the Employee’s Record, Leave tab?  I can see it in the List of Pay Rates.

Answer

You will experience this issue if the pay rate is linked to another pay rate.

On the Employee Record Leave tab you can only choose leave items that will accumulate hours.  A linked item does not accrue hours. 

 

Detailed Instructions to unlink a pay rate:

1.    Lists > Pay Rates;

2.    Double click on the pay rate you could not see (eg: Long Service Leave);

3.    Click on the Linked to tab to view the pay rate this pay rate is linked to (eg: Personal leave);

4.    Click Cancel > No

5.    Double Click on the parent pay rate (eg: Personal Leave);

6.    Click on the Linked to tab;

7.    Highlight your pay rate (eg: Long Service Leave) and click Delete, then Yes;

8.    Click OK then Close to complete the process.

Your leave pay rate is now unlinked and visible in the Employee Record Leave tab.
