Customer Jobs appear under a different Customer in Retail POS

Legacy KB ID: 4873

Question

Why are some Jobs appearing under the wrong customers in Retail POS?

Answer

This issue can appear when a Job in Reckon Accounts is created or edited and the job will often appear under the last Customer in Reckon Point of Sale.  It is correctly listed in Reckon Accounts.

Compacting the Database in Point of Sale or Resorting Lists and Rebuilding the company file in Reckon Accounts do not correct the issue.

This issue has been fixed in Point of Sale 2015.

Workaround for POS 2014 and earlier editions

1.    In Reckon Accounts, edit the Customer Name for any customers whose jobs have moved to the wrong place in Point of Sale. eg. Add a '1' to the end of the Customer Name and save.

2.    In POS Administrator, Transfer the Customer List.

3.    In Reckon Accounts, edit the Customer Name for the customer back to what it should be and save.

4.    In POS Administrator, Transfer the Customer List.

5.    If this doesn't fix the job for a certain customer, try repeating the operation for that customer.

Creating a new Database file will also fix the issue.

Note: if creating a new Database file, you will need to save or print out Point of Sale specific information like:

·         Keyboard layouts;

·         Outstanding Laybys;

·         Details of Promotions;

·         Customer Loyalty Points;

·         Booked Appointments;

·         Booked Table Reservations;

·         SMS Details;

·         Security Roles.

·         General Configuration Settings.
