Legacy KB ID: 4100

Question

Can I access QuickBooks Hosted 2011/12 (standard account) from a computer that is not my normal computer – like from a friend’s computer, a computer in a hotel Business Centre or an internet cafe?

Answer

You can access QuickBooks Hosted 2011/12 (standard account) from any computer that is configured to communicate with Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1.

Generally, if the PC is Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 7 web browser, it will be able to communicate with Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, provided there are no restrictions to accessing a remote server.  Older machines will require the running of the Reckon Infrastructure Compatibility Check application.  You may not have permissions to run or install this application on a public or shared computer.

You should not use other web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Opera, etc) unless you know they have the IE Tab Add-On installed.

On the reckononline RDWeb landing page, users should select the This is a public or shared computer option.  This option will ensure your personal details are not saved on this computer.

When you finish using QuickBooks Hosted 2011/12 be sure to log off
