Senor Scanner cannot read barcodes after following setup procedures in Retail POS 2012/13

Legacy KB ID: 4509

Question

I have followed the instructions for setting up the Senor Barcode Scanner, but still it will not ready a barcode.  Why?

Answer

Out of the box the Senor Scanner is in ‘factory default mode’ and must be switched to ‘USB default mode’.

Also, some of the setup barcodes for the Senor Scanner in the Retail POS 2012/13 Installation and Upgrade Guide are of poor quality and may result in your scanner not being setup correctly.

Workaround

1.    Switch the scanner to USB default mode:

Scan the following barcodes to switch the scanner to USB default mode:

2.    Go to the Retail POS 2012/13 Installation and Upgrade Guide on the Quicken website at https://library.reckon.com.au/library/pdf/2012-13_RetailPOS_IIFI.pdf for a better quality set of barcodes and reconfigure your Senor Scanner.

OR

Use the 2011/12 edition of the Installation and Upgrade Guide to reconfigure your Senor scanner.
