Cannot successfully run the Reckon Infrastructure Compatibility Check application for QuickBooks Hos

Legacy KB ID: 4098

Question

I am trying to run the Reckon Infrastructure Compatibility Check application again to configure my PC for use on the new QuickBooks Hosted server, but it immediately ends with the message that it has been uninstalled.  I cannot access QuickBooks Hosted with my standard account.

Answer

You will experience this issue if you previously tried to run the Reckon Infrastructure Compatibility Check application but cancelled it before it completed its run.  Reckon Infrastructure Compatibility Check application will not run because it detects it is still installed.

In some instances you may get an error similar to this one:

‘A network error occurred while attempting to read from the file:  C:\Users\<logged on user>\App Data Local Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\2MI53CVA\ReckonInfrastructureCompatibility.msi’

Or....

‘The connection has been terminated because an unexpected server authentication certificate was received from the remote computer.  Try connecting again.  If the problem continues, contact the owner of the remote computer or your network administrator.’

Workaround

Uninstall the existing Reckon Infrastructure Compatibility Check application and then run it again.

1.    Control Panel > Programs & Features (XP: Add/Remove Programs)

2.    Highlight ReckonOnline Infrastructure Compatibility Check and Remove;

3.    In Windows Explorer, go to C:\Program Files\Reckon\ and delete the ReckonOnline Infrastructure Compatibility Check folder

4.    Restart your PC

5.    Run the Reckon Infrastructure Compatibility Check application again;

6.    Restart your PC again.

Additional steps for Windows XP

1.    In Control Panel > Scheduled Task

2.    Right click AddCRL and select Run.
