Remote Desktop connection fails when printing from QuickBooks Hosted

Question

Why does my Remote Desktop Connection to QuickBooks Hosted crash when I print from Quickbooks to my local printer?

Answer

You may experience this issue if you have an older model printer that cannot efficiently communicate with a remote connection or with a 64-bit operating system like QuickBooks Hosted.

 

Printers known to experience this issue are:

·         Sharp Printers

 

 

Workaround

Update your printer driver from the printer manufacturer. 

You need a driver that is compatible for Remote Desktop Connection (RDC, RDP) and 64-bit compatible
