BAS information fails to import into SBR through GovConnect

Question

The BAS in QuickBooks has been successfully completed but when I try to import the data into SBR through GovConnect, no information is imported.  Why?

Answer

This issue may occur where the user submitting the BAS to SBR is not the person that prepared the BAS. 

The error occurs because GovConnect could not find the export file (qbEAS.xml) that contains your BAS data.

By default, this file is saved to the user’s personal directory:  C:\Users\<logged in user>\My Documents\ and is created when the option Lodge is selected when completing the BAS.  If another user will be uploading the BAS to SBR then that user will not have access to the first user’s personal directory for the export file qbEAS.xml.

 

Workarounds

Option 1

The submitting user should open QuickBooks and the BAS for the current period and click on Lodge to create the export file qbEAS.xml to his/her personal directory that will be used by GovConnect.

 

Option 2

The user preparing the BAS should save the qbEAS.xml file to a shared folder that is accessible by the submitting user.

 

Option 3

The user preparing the BAS can email a copy of the qbEAS.xml file to the submitting user.
