Email connectivity issue when attempting to email from QuickBooks

Question

Why are my emails from QuickBooks failing?  I get the error:

QuickBooks has detected an email connectivity issue when attempting to email the remittance advice.  Please try again.

Answer

This error can occur with the emailing of any QuickBooks form and will occur if the email address is in the wrong format. 

A common reason for this error is if an email address has been copied from the email header that contained the tag “mailto:”

eg: mailto:client@company.com.au instead of client@company.com.au

 

Workaround

Check that emails are correctly entered onto the Customer, Supplier, Employee or Other’s record.
