Error - PAYGI is not enabled in QuickBooks when compiling the BAS Lodgement in GovConnect

Question

Why do I get the error: “PAYGI is not enabled in QuickBooks” when compiling the BAS Lodgement form in GovConnect?  I do not use the QuickBooks Integrated Payroll module.

Answer

For GovConnect to access any payroll figures included on the BAS Lodgement Form in QuickBooks, the Full Payroll option must be selected in QuickBooks Preferences and PAYG features turned on in the BAS module.

It does not matter whether or not you are using the QuickBooks Integrated Payroll module.  The full payroll features must be switched on for GovConnect to access the payroll sections of the BAS Lodgement Form (W1 and W2 fields).

 

Workaround

Turn on Full Payroll in QuickBooks.

1.    Edit > Preferences > Payroll & Employees > company Preferences;

2.    In the QuickBooks Payroll Features, click on the radio button next to Full Payroll.

3.    Click OK to complete.

In the BAS Module Reports:

1.    Configuration > PAYG Instalment;

2.    Tick the box Include PAYG Instalment on this BAS;

  1. Click the  PAYG Withholding tab;

4.    Tick the box Include PAYG Withholding on this BAS;

  1. Click OK to complete.
