BAS settings do not save after upgrading QuickBooks

Question

I completed the BAS return and saved the file.  When I do the next BAS return I have to reconfigure all the fields.  Why?

Answer

This issue may be experienced after recently upgrading QuickBooks, using the installation option Select an existing version to upgrade rather than the Install Quickbooks Edition 20xx-xx to folder:  C:\.....

 

Workaround

Clean uninstall QuickBooks.

Reinstall Quickbooks, selecting the installation option Install Quickbooks Edition 20xx-xx to folder:  C:\....., where

·         Edition is your edition of QuickBooks – eg: Premier, Pro, Plus etc;

·         20xx-xx is the year version of your QuickBooks – eg: 2010/11, 2009/10
