Contributions column on Review and Create Payment Screen includes ESCT tax

Legacy KB ID: 4811

Question

Why does QuickBooks include the ESCT tax in the Contributions column?  This should show the net contribution to the Super Fund.

Answer

Structural limitations of QuickBooks prevents another column to be added to the Review and Create Payment Screen for ESCT tax, so it has been decided to include it with the Super contribution in the Contributions column.

If the Employer is paying the ESCT tax, then the amount appearing will be the agreed amount of super (KiwiSaver plus additional company super contributions) plus the appropriate amount of tax.

If the Employee is paying the ESCT tax, then the amount appearing will be the agreed amount of super (KiwiSaver plus additional company super contributions).

Employee payslips will show the actual amount of super to be paid to the super fund.
