Zero amounts appearing on invoices in the amount column.

Question

When an item is selected that has a $0.00 amount how can i stop this zero amount form appearing?

Answer

Firstly QuickBooks must be running on an Accrual basis and not on a Cash basis to do this.

To change QuickBooks to an Accrual basis;
1) Go to the 'Edit' menu and select 'Preferences'.
2) Click on the 'Tax' icon and select the 'Company Preferences' tab.
3) Under the 'Tax Reporting Basis' field tick 'Accrual Basis' and press OK.

Once the user is in the Create Invoice screen, they must tick the 'Amts Inc Tax' box.

Now when an item is entered with a zero amount '0.00' will not appear.
