Information for Existing Users of Payroll Premier

Changes for 2023/24

Payroll Premier 2023/24 includes new compliance changes including updated PAYG Tax Tables and State Payroll Tax rates.

PAYG Tax tables

Payroll Premier 2023/24 contains the updated tax tables for student-based payments. HELP and SFSS based payments use the same PAYG tax tables now due to the change to STSL (Study Training Support Loan) based tax tables. It is recommended you move all employees set to SFSS, to HELP based tables.

Super Guarantee Act Rate

Payroll Premier 2023/24 changes the default rate for compulsory superannuation paid by employers to the latest 11% from 10.5% as per the legislated change for July 1 2023. This change is made for brand new awards and employees. For awards and employees you will need to manually change the rate to 11% if applicable. This should be done before the first pay run in the new financial year to ensure the correct rate of super is calculated. The default rate within the file is changed to 11% on upgrade.

For those employees which are linked to awards, the rate change should be made in the award. This will then apply that change to all employees within the award instantly.

Payment Summaries

If you are not reporting to Single Touch Payroll and still using payment summaries, it is recommended that you print or email your payment summaries before upgrading.
