Memorized and User Defined Reports missing after applying Payroll Premier 2012/13 Update

Legacy KB ID: 4757

Question

Why are my memorized reports missing after applying the Payroll Premier 2012/13 Update?

Answer

When you install the Payroll Premier 2012/13 Update, your report files in the QPRollV21\Payroll folder are replaced with a default set.

Workaround

  1. Make a backup of your current datafile.  Do not overwrite existing backups.
  2. Restore your last backup that included Reports.
  3. Restore the backup created in Step 1.

You should now be able to see your memorised reports.

If your last backup did not include your memorised reports, follow one of these alternatives.

 1.    You have a backup that may be a few months old that did contain memorised reports in the backup:

a.    Create a backup of your current file – choose not to save memorised reports;

b.    Restore the backup that contained memorized reports.  Your memorised reports to the date of the backup will be restored;

c.    Restore your backup made in step 1 (a);

d.    Your file now contains your latest data with memorized reports to the date of the relevant backup;

e.    Recreate any memorized reports created since the relevant backup.

2.    You do not have a backup that contains memorised reports dated after 1st July 2012, but you still have your last 2011/12 (v20) datafile:

a.    Create a backup of your current file – choose not to save memorised reports;

b.    On the top menu line click on Wizard > Update from Previous Version;

c.    Click Next in Upgrade Wizard window;

d.    Untick the box Upgrade Data Files;

e.    Leave the box Upgrade Reports ticked;

f.     If you get an error: Invalid Key.  C:\QPRollvXX\Data\OldRpt.dat key is not valid.  Do you want to rebuild the key? select Yes;

g.    On the screen that contains a table of your data files and reports, select the data files and reports you wish to upgrade;

h.    On the last screen click Finish to exit the Upgrade Wizard.

j.     Your file now contains your latest data with memorized reports to the last pay date of 2011/12;
