How do I resolve the following error when installing QuickBooks on a computer running Microsoft® Windows NT®, Windows® 2000, or Windows XP?
Setup failed to launch installation engine: class is not registered

Answer

The above error (or a similar error referring to "classes") is an InstallShield® error, which may appear when installing a program that uses InstallShield® Professional 6.x

Reinstalling (or installing) the latest version of Microsoft® Internet Explorer may resolve this error. You can download the latest version of Internet Explorer from the Internet Explorer Home Page
