Superannuation Error for Paid Parental Leave in Payroll Premier 2011/12

Question

Why do I get a Superannuation Error when I add Paid Parental Leave onto an employee’s record?  I thought super was not paid on Paid Parental Leave.

Answer

This is a benign message. 

Payroll Premier expects Statutory Super to be added onto an Ordinary Time Earnings item.  When it is not selected an error is generated.

Paid Parental Leave has special arrangements that does not require Statutory Super is not included. 

 

Workaround

Ignore the message.
