Question

Why can't I activate my Quicken 2005 personal by phone?

Answer

This issue can be cause by your licence file being damaged.

To correct this do the following,

Navigate to

Windows 7 & Vista:  C:\ProgramData\Intuit\Quicken\Config

Windows XP:  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Intuit\Quicken\Config
Find the file 'quicken.lic' and delete it.

If you have not installed into the default location as above please use the Windows search feature by clicking the START button then 'Search' or 'Find Files and Folders' and search the relevant location on your computer for this 'quicken.lic' file and delete it.

Reopen Quicken and enter the CD key but DO NOT press ok, press cancel. Quicken will then ask if you really want to cancel or would you like to register by phone, click by phone.
