Cannot change assigned Class on a pay

Question

Why won’t QuickBooks accept a change to the class on a completed pay?  I am able to change the class but when I save changes the original class reappears.

You cannot change the class once a pay has been completed.

 

Workaround

Delete the pay and redo it with the correct class.

 

Care:  if the pay involves a paycheque that has already been reconciled, you will need to redo the reconciliation that included that paycheque.
