Date Driven Terms are not applied properly

Legacy KB ID: 4116

Question

Why won’t QuickBooks apply my Terms to the Invoice correctly?  It worked properly in QuickBooks 2009/10 but not in 2010/11.

Answer

You will encounter this problem when you have date-driven terms where the days before due date are greater than the number of days into the month.

You will have the problem on this type of setup:

·         Net due before the 15th day of the month.  Due the next month if issued within 21 days of due date.

But you will not have the problem on this setup:

·         Net due before the 30th day of the month.  Due the next month if issued within 30 days of due date.

Our Product Development Team is investigating the issue.

Workaround

Reset the due date and the number of days so that both fall within the same month.

For example: change due 15th / within 21 days to - due 21st / within 21 days.  In this way invoices issued in the last week of Month 1 will be due 21st of Month 2, while invoices issued between the 1st and the 21st of Month 2 will be due on the 21st of Month 3.
