7-NoLL Tax Scale missing from QuickBooks 2012/13

Legacy KB ID: 4582

Question

Why don’t I have a 7–NoLL tax scale in QuickBooks 2012/13?

Answer

As part of the changes to the PAYG income tax laws, the special tax treatment for Leave Loading has been removed.

Up to 2011/12 basic tax scales charged an extra $2.00 per week PAYG tax to give employees the first $320.00 of Leave Loading payment free of tax.  This special arrangement has been removed in 2012/13 and the tax scales in QuickBooks 2012/13 reflect this change.  Employees will no longer pay an extra $2.00 PAYG tax per week and will have all their Leave Loading payments taxed at their marginal rates of tax.

As a result, the tax scale 7–NoLL is no longer required and has been removed from the Tax Scale choice.

Employees who were assigned the 7–No LL tax scale were switched to the basic 2-TFT tax scale when the 2012/13 tax table update was installed (QuickBooks 2012/13R3).
