Tax Tracking Type on imported ETP payroll items changes to None

Legacy KB ID: 4872

Question

I have just imported some payroll items from an older file into a new file using an IIF File.  Why do ETP payroll items lose their Tax Tracking Type?  They now show None and not the ETP tax tracking type originally selected.

Answer

You will experience this issue if you export ETP payroll items from a Reckon Accounts 2012/13 and earlier version and import them into Reckon Accounts Business Range 2013.

This occurs because new Tax Tracking Types have been introduced to replace those that existed in 2012/13 and earlier.  The new tax tracking types allow the user to specify whether the termination is a Genuine Redundancy or of an Other type.

Pre July 1983 Component has been replaced by

Post June 1994 Invalidity Component has been replaced by Post June 1994 Invalidity Component (R) only.

Workaround

Edit the payroll item and select the correct Tax Tracking Type.

1.    Lists > Payroll Item List >

2.    Click Next twice to get to the Tax Tracking Type screen;

3.    Click the dropdown arrow and select the appropriate tax tracking type.

4.    Click Next until the final screen is reached then click Finish.
