Some Accountant’s changes do not import into QuickBooks 2011/12

Legacy KB ID: 4205

Question

I have imported my Accountant’s changes but I notice that one of the changes in the Accountant’s Report has not updated the transaction in QuickBooks.  Why?

Answer

You may experience this problem with Tax Invoices with the box Amounts include Tax ticked.  When the accountant makes a change that affects the Tax Amount (by changing the Amount for an item) of the transaction, then that transaction will not update the original transaction in QuickBooks.

Tax Invoices with Amounts include Tax not ticked do not experience this issue and changes to the Amount will be updated.

Workaround

**************************************************************

In general, if you are entering Invoices with Amounts include Tax ticked, ask your accountant to let you know if a change has been made to a Tax Invoice and enter the change manually.

**************************************************************

Change the details of the Tax Invoice manually from the information in the Import Accountant’s Changes report.
