Question

How do I resolve the following error, which occurs when attempting an Internet connection through Quicken?



Error 1513 : Unable to process request

Answer



  1. Verify that you are connected to the Internet. If not, connect to the Internet and try again.

  2. Open a Web browser and verify you can view Web pages. If not, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for assistance.

  3. Verify that the proxy settings are correct in Quicken:

  4. From the Quicken Edit menu, choose Internet Connection Setup.
  5. Select a profile, and then click Modify.
  6. Select I have a direct Internet Connection, and then click Next.
  7. Verify the proxy settings are correct in the Tell us about your proxy server window. If you are unsure about the proxy settings, contact your ISP
  8. If you do not need proxy settings, click Clear All, and then click Next. If you do require proxy settings, enter the proxy information, and then click Next.
  9. In the Summary window, click Finish, and then click OK.
  10. Attempt to connect to the Internet again.

  11. Note: If Quicken is configured for a Direct Connection, then connect to the Internet before trying to go online through Quicken.
  12. If a firewall program is being used, configure it to allow Quicken access to the Internet. The file that will need access is QW.EXE. It is located in the Quicken installation folder. Contact the firewall program vendor for information on how to configure the firewall to allow Quicken access to the Internet.

  13. If your ISP offers content filtering, disable that feature, and then attempt the connection again. For more information on how to disable this feature, contact your ISP.

  14. If using a dial-up Internet connection, change the access number that connects to the ISP. Changing the access number may result in a faster, more stable Internet connection. Consult your ISP for detailed information on how to change your access number.
