Quicken Autorun does not start. Cannot launch autorun.exe from the CD drive

Legacy KB ID: 3776

Question

When I inserted by Quicken installation disk nothing happened.  When I launched the autorun.exe directly from the CD’s drive I clicked on Yes to the warning about active content but then nothing happened.  How do I get Quicken started?

Answer

This problem has been encountered by users with Internet Explorer 8. Autorun.exe must be run as an Administrator to launch.

Solution

1.    In Windows Explorer in the CD drive, right click on autorun.exe

2.    Select Run As Administrator

3.    The Quicken Splash Screen should open

4.    Follow the on-screen prompts

If you still cannot launch autorun, launch the relevant module directly from the CD drive.  Double left-click on the following files:

·         Upgrade Information – CD drive\2010_Quicken_IAUG.pdf

·         ReckonTools – https://home.quicken.com.au/Pages/Product.aspx?catid=16

·         User Guide – CD drive\Quicken_2010_User_Guide.pdf

·         Install – CD drive\HAB\disk1\setup.exe

·         Trial – CD drive\HAB\disk1\setup.exe
