Question

What steps must I follow to successfully upgrade my network-based Payroll premier file?

Answer

Payroll Premier cannot directly upgrade company files located in a folder other than the default folder – C:\QPRollVxx\Data\

To successfully upgrade your file that resides in a network location (shared folder) you will need to:

  1. Copy the network folder to another location as a backup;
  2. Reset your network path from the network location to your local PC;
  3. Upgrade to the next version of Payroll Premier on the local PC;
  4. Open all your company files on the local PC;
  5. Reset the network path from your local PC to your network folder;
  6. Upgrade other PCs and configure to use the Network location.
