Emailing from QuickBooks and Reckon Accounts 2013 with Outlook 2013

Question

Why can’t I email from Reckon Accounts Business 2013 (formerly QuickBooks) through Outlook 2013?  I get the error:

We're sorry, but Outlook has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly. Outlook will need to be closed as a result. Would you like us to repair now?

Answer

Accounts Business 2013 (formerly QuickBooks) has not been tested with Outlook 2013 so we are unable to give an authoritative answer to this problem. 

Accounts Business 2013/14 is expected to be compatible with Outlook 2013.

 

Users have reported the following Workaround allows Outlook 2013 to interact with Accounts Business 2013 successfully:

1.    Close Accounts Business.

2.    Right-click your Accounts Business icon > Properties > Compatibility;

3.    Under Privilege Level, tick the box Run this program as an Administrator;

4.    Under Compatibility mode, ensure the box Run this program in compatibility mode for: is unticked;

5.    Click OK to save and close.
