Script errors when click on Print in Preview ABA File

Question

Why do I continually get script errors when I try to print the ABA file from the Preview ABA File screen?

Answer

QuickBooks opens several additional processes inside an Internet Explorer shell.  Whenever you upgrade Internet Explorer to a version above the one your QuickBooks version was optimized for, you have a risk of experiencing a script error. 

In some cases, reducing the security and privacy levels for Internet Explorer will avoid the issue.  In other cases that process is incompatible with the newer version of Internet Explorer. 

Internet Explorer 9 on Quickbooks 2011/12 will produce this error.

 

Workaround

 

Reduce Security and Privacy Levels on Internet Explorer

1.    Internet Explorer > Tools > Internet Options

2.    Security > Internet > lower the security bar one notch

a.    If you do not have a security level bar, click on Custom Level;

b.    In Reset To box, choose the next lower option;

c.    Click OK to save.

3.    Privacy > lower the setting bar one notch. 

4.    Click OK to save.

If you are still receiving script errors, uninstall Internet Explorer 9 and revert to Internet Explorer 8.
