Exporting Employee's address information from Quick Payroll to QuickBooks 2003

Question

How can I export my Employee's address information from Quick Payroll to QuickBooks 2003?

Answer

Create a payroll export file by:

1) Select 'Process Pays' in the Quick Payroll Navigator.
2) Click 'Transfer Payroll Information to QuickBooks'.
3) Select the 'Advanced Options' tab and tick 'Use Minimum Number Of Accounts'.
4) Click Export.

This will create a file in your Data folder called "QPExport.IIF" (This will be located in C:\Program Files\QPRollV12\Data).


Open up the QPExport.IIF, using MS Excel or a text editor and;

1) Delete all rows before this entry > "!EMP".
(ie the row starting with !EMP should remain)

2) Delete all rows from this entry on > "!TRNS".
(ie the row starting with !TRNS should be deleted)


-After you have deleted the employee transactions data save the file.

-Open QuickBooks and import the "QPExport.IIF", to do this;
1) Select File menu > Utilities > Import > Import IIF files.
2) Select the file 'QPExport.IIF' (This will be found in C:\Program Files\QPRollV12\Data).
3) Click 'Open'.

The employees personal information will now appear in the Address tab for each record employees record.
