Invoices paid by credit are appearing in the recieve payment screen after upgrading to QuickBooks from Quicken Cashbooks 2004

Question

Why are my old invoices now appearing back in the receive payment window with a different amount (no tax component) after Upgrading to QuickBooks from Quicken Cashbooks 2004 ? They have already been paid

Answer

When you upgrade from Quicken Cashbooks 2004 to QuickBooks 2005/06 you will need to re-apply credits to invoices that were created in Cashbooks 2004.


To do this follow the steps below:

1. From the drop-down file menu select 'customers' then select 'receive payments'

2. Select the customer and then highlight the invoice by clicking on it with your mouse

3. Click 'set credits' then 'tick' the invoice to be credited

4. Click 'ok' and save and close your work.

Always make regular backups of your data file
