Sending emails via webmail from Reckon Accounts Business 2016 does not complete.

Question

Why do emails sent from Reckon Accounts Business 2016 through my webmail account hang and not send?  I have properly configured Send Forms details according to my ISP’s specifications for smtp email.

Answer

Turn off 2-Step Verification on your webmail account

 

The Issue

The message sent by Reckon Accounts Business 2016 to your Webmail provider does not contain any source identification. 

Where you have activated 2-step verification, and your webmail provider cannot identify the message source as a known source, it will send you a security code to enter to continue the process.  Reckon Accounts Business cannot respond to this additional requirement and the email sending hangs.

 

Workaround

Remove the 2-step verification requirement from your webmail account. 

Care – in turning off 2-step verification you will be reducing the security level on your webmail account.  Please consider the impact this step will have on your other activities and company policies.
