The Navigator Menu window is missing icons or is blank

Why is my QuickBooks Navigator window missing icons or altogether blank?

Answer

Check for RAM available. Try closing and re-opening QuickBooks. Try rebooting the machine as it could be a video RAM problem. SolutionFollow these instructions to resolve this issue:Open up your Internet Explorer WindowGo to Tools/Internet OptionsIn the Internet Properties window, click the Advanced tab.Scroll down to the Multimedia section, and then select Show pictures. If it is already selected, then follow steps below.Only complete the below steps if the above does not rectify your situation Windows® 95, Windows® 98, or Windows NT®:On the desktop, double-click the My Computer icon.From the View menu, choose Folder Options (or Options in Windows 95). Click the File Types tab and scroll through the list to locate and select GIF Image.Click Edit. In the Content Type (MIME) field, type image/gif, and then press Tab.Click OK to save your changes.Windows® Me or Windows® 2000:On the desktop, double-click the My Computer icon.From the Tools menu, choose Folder Options.Click the File Types tab and scroll through the list to locate and select GIF in the Extensions column.Click Delete, and then click Yes at the warning message.Click New, and then type GIF in the File Extension box.Click Advanced to expand the window to show the Associated File Type box.From the list in the Associated File Type box, select GIF Image and then click OK to save your changes.
