Add pay slip notes to pay runs in Reckon One

Learn how to add notes to pay slips in Reckon One. You can add notes to all pay slips, and/or specific employees' pay slips, for a given pay run. You can only add pay slip notes to pay runs that are marked as in Draft or Paid.

Notes can appear together on a single pay slip. If you add a note to all payslips in a pay run, and then also add a note to a specific employee's pay slip in the same pay run, both will appear on the employee's pay slip.

This feature is available on all payroll and Reckon Ultimate plans.

Add notes to all pay slips

To add a note that will appear on all pay slips for a pay run (or edit an existing note):

  1. In the Payroll menu, select Pay runs.
  2. Select the relevant pay run.
  3. If the pay run is in Draft, click on Options, then select View pay slips. If the pay run is paid, click on View & send pay slips.
  4. Enter your note into the Pay slip note field.
  5. Click Save. You can either continue to preview or send pay slips, or click Cancel to exit out and return to the pay run.

The note will appear on the bottom of each pay slip.

Add notes for a specific employee

To add (or edit) a note that will appear only on a specific employee's pay slip:

  1. In the Payroll menu, select Pay runs.
  2. Select the relevant pay run.
  3. Click on the employee's name.
  4. At the bottom of the screen, in the Pay slip employee note section, enter your note in the Note for this employee field.
  5. Click Save note.
  6. Click Close in the top right to exit out and return to the pay run.
