Reckon Accounts Business crashes when upgrading an older version company file to 2014 and later

Question

Why do my attempts to upgrade my company file to the current version of Reckon Accounts Business continually crash?

Answer

In your original version, deselect your State in the Company Information window and reselect it.

 

The Issue

This behaviour has been noted with company files in versions Reckon Accounts 2012/13 and earlier being upgrade directly to version 2014 and later.

 

Workaround

In your original version, go to Company > Company Information > and deselect your State.  Reselect it.

Your file should now upgrade without issue.
