Locating the AUSkey for Reckon GovConnect

Legacy KB ID: 4662

Question

I want to submit my BAS to the ATO via GovConnect and I am being asked for my AUSkey file.  Where do I find it?

Answer

Before you can lodge returns through Reckon Govconnect, you must have an AUSkey.  You can obtain an AUSkey from www.abr.gov.au and is stored in a file called keystore.xml.

You can store this file in any location you wish.  By default the file will be stored in the following directories:

Windows 7 & Vista:

C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\AUSkey

Windows XP/Server 2003:

C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\AUSkey

MAC OSX:

Finder/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/AUSkey

USB:

USB Drive\AUSkey or AUSkey Browser\AUSkey

Note: You will need to show Hidden Files & Folders to view the Keystore.

When logging onto Reckon GovConnect:

1)    Click Add, enter a name for the Auskey (a quick reference for Reckon GovConnect)

2)    Click Browse, navigate to the location of your Auskey;

3)    After selecting your Auskey click OK, your Auskey will be retained for future Lodgements.
